Privacy Policy

Helminthix is building a professional community for people and organisations working to combat neglected tropical diseases through AI, drug discovery, translational research, diagnostics, clinical development, public-health programmes and international collaboration.

Last updated: 19 June 2026

Who this policy is for

This policy applies to visitors to Helminthix.org and to people who apply for, use or participate in the Helminthix Members community. The community is intended for people with a professional interest in neglected tropical diseases and AI-enabled collaboration, including molecular laboratories, parasitologists, eradication programmes, AI drug-development teams, health professionals, clinical-trial teams, funders, public-health organisations and related partners.

Community applications and vetting

Anyone may apply to join the Helminthix Members community, but sign-ups are reviewed and vetted before a profile is approved for the member directory. We may use the information you provide to assess whether the community is a suitable professional forum for you, to prevent abuse, and to protect the trust and safety of members.

Information we collect

We may collect information you provide directly, including:

  • name, email address and Google account sign-in details;
  • organisation, role, professional title, country, city and website;
  • professional interests, biography, collaboration interests and areas of expertise;
  • optional contact details such as phone number;
  • visibility and consent preferences for the member directory and contact features;
  • messages, inquiries and other communications with Helminthix.

We also collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser details, device information, log-in events and security logs to operate and protect the site and member app.

Google sign-in

The Helminthix Members app uses Google sign-in to authenticate users. Google may provide basic profile information such as your Google account identifier, name, email address and email verification status. We use this to create or locate your Helminthix member account. We do not ask Google for Gmail, Drive, Calendar or other account content.

Member directory visibility

Your profile is not intended to appear in the member directory unless you choose directory visibility and Helminthix approves the profile for listing. Hidden, unapproved or deleted profiles should not appear in member search results.

Email and phone visibility are controlled separately. You may be visible in the directory without showing your email address or phone number. Helminthix administrators may still access submitted details where needed for review, support, security, compliance or community management.

How we use information

We may use information to:

  • authenticate users and operate the Helminthix Members app;
  • review, approve, decline or manage membership applications;
  • provide a searchable member directory for approved members;
  • help members identify collaborators across neglected tropical disease research and implementation communities;
  • support formation of international consortia, funding opportunities and professional collaborations;
  • send service, security, membership or community-related communications;
  • protect the site, app and community from misuse, spam or unauthorised access;
  • meet legal, governance, audit and operational responsibilities.

Zoho and service providers

Helminthix may use service providers, including customer relationship management tools such as Zoho, to manage contacts, membership review, communications and collaboration opportunities. We do not expose service-provider access tokens in browser code. Where we ask for a specific consent, such as syncing contact details to a CRM, we use that consent to guide the relevant processing.

Research and health information

The member community is a professional networking and collaboration platform. It is not intended for submitting patient records, clinical-trial participant data, medical records or sensitive participant-level research data. If a future project requires handling health, clinical, participant or other sensitive information, Helminthix will use appropriate agreements, governance, access controls and safeguards before that processing begins.

Lawful basis

Where data protection law such as UK GDPR applies, our lawful basis may include legitimate interests, contract, legal obligation and consent. Legitimate interests may include operating a professional community, reviewing applications, protecting security, supporting collaboration and developing consortia to combat neglected tropical diseases. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent, subject to legal and operational limits.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers, professional advisers, infrastructure providers, security providers, collaboration partners where appropriate, or authorities where required by law. Directory information is shared with other approved members only according to your visibility choices and Helminthix approval settings.

International collaboration

Helminthix is international by nature. Members and collaborators may be based in different countries. Where information is transferred internationally, we aim to use proportionate safeguards suitable for the information involved and the purpose of the collaboration.

Security and retention

We use technical and organisational measures designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss. We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for membership, collaboration, legal, audit, security and operational purposes.

Your choices and rights

You can update profile visibility choices in the member app when that functionality is available. You may ask us to correct, hide or delete your member profile, subject to legal, security and record-keeping limits. Where UK GDPR or similar laws apply, you may also have rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and complaint to a regulator.

Contact

For questions about this policy or how Helminthix handles information, please contact us through the website contact page.

Updates

We may update this policy as Helminthix, the member app, community processes, CRM integration and collaboration activities develop.
